After being surprised that Joel Bitonio had left the stadium in crutches two weeks ago, head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed he had also gotten a knee scope during the bye week. This will sadly end his impressive 102-game starting streak when he misses Sunday’s game as the Cleveland Browns get set to take on the 49ers.
The team already had its work cut out for them facing one of the league’s best teams and the task got taller. The team did not give any timetable for when the All-Pro left guard will return to the field.
The team will now turn to veteran Michael Dunn to fill in at left guard who has had some success with the Browns. Dunn will be a drop of course as it’s not easy to replace Bitonio and he has a massive test coming against San Francisco’s defensive line. The Browns will look to rally despite all the injuries to try and give the 49ers their first loss of the season.
