Black Monday in the NFL is here as the 2023 regular season wrapped up on Sunday night. For once the Cleveland Browns have requests for their personnel to interview for other team’s vacancies instead of the other way around like it normally is. Assistant general manager Glenn Cook is the newest member of the list as the Washington Commanders look for a new general manager.
It felt like Cook would be a hot name this cycle after he had a couple of general manager interviews last year. Now, the Commanders have requested and were granted permission to interview the Browns assistant general manager for their head of football operations position in Washington. This likely will not be Cook’s only interview unless Washington moves quickly and tries to hire him quickly.
If Cook is hired as a general manager or head of football operations the Browns will get multiple draft picks for developing a minority candidate. Cleveland would get a third round pick this year as well as a third next year if Cook gets a promotion.
