The Cleveland Browns kept just two tight ends on their initial 53-man roster, and they are going to keep it that way.
Since the initial 53-man roster was released on Tuesday afternoon, the Browns have added two tight ends to the practice squad in former San Francisco 49ers’ third round pick Cameron Latu and undrafted free agent Blake Whiteheart.
Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot broke the news of the Whiteheart signing, while The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook was first on the addition of Latu.
Both players are from the 2023 NFL draft class as Latu was released just one year after he was drafted by the Niners. According to Noah Weiskopf of The OBR, this is the plan for the Browns heading into the regular season as they will not add another to their active roster.
