Brownie bakery loved by Leeds United players to open stand at Elland Road

Popular Leeds sweet treats company The Savvy Baker is opening a brand new stand at Elland Road.

This will be the fourth location where the business will distribute its sell-out brownies, blondies, cookies and cakes. Entrepreneur Savannah Roqaa built her online business The Savvy Baker almost overnight during the coronavirus lockdown period in 2020. She began gaining success after posting her cakes on her Instagram page, which now has over 53,000 followers.

Many of the goodies produced by the Savvy Baker are also beloved by former Leeds United and England star Kalvin Phillips. The businesswoman opened her first bakery in Roundhay in 2022 which has had great success. Six months later a second bakery, before announcing in April this year that she is opening a third café in a brand new Leeds gym in north Leeds.

Announcing the news of her treats being sold at Elland Road, Savannah said: "Exciting news guys! We’re going to have a stand at Elland Road! Inside the turnstiles at the East Stand on match days and supplied to the brew bar and coffee shop at the east stand too.

"This is huge for us. If you’re attending the last two home games, come and show us some support too Brownies while you watch the match. First up.. Leeds Vs Newcastle."

The post has since received over 2,000 likes and support pouring in from local supporters of both the booming brownie business and Leeds United Football Club. Speaking about her success, Savannah said: "We're open. I started The Savvy Baker this time three years ago in the midst of lockdown, completely random and not planned at all, but I ran with the idea. Worked all days and nights and built the business up.

"Two years ago I got an empty warehouse and used the money I had saved from selling locally and online to renovate it and built a bakery to be able to meet the super high demand. One year ago today, we opened our first ever café in Roundhay, then six months later opened a second café and now our third café with a brand new concept is here. Thanks for joining the journey."
