Two brothers walked away 'laughing' after violence flared at a house party, a court heard.
The homeowner was hit on the back of the head with a glass and punched several times, leaving him with a broken nose and a fractured eye socket.
And the court heard his girlfriend was also struck and knocked to the ground, suffering swelling to her jaw and a mark under her eye.

Ryan King, 28, was invited but his older brother, Sean, 30, went as well, Liverpool Crown Court was told.
"It was apparent to the witnesses that the Kings were the aggressors," said Peter Killen, prosecuting.
The court heard the party took place at the home in Newton-le-Willows of Paul Scott after he and his partner, Kylie Gregory, returned home with friends after a night out in June 2020.
Mr Killen said there was an altercation when the King brothers were asked to leave - a 'tussle' between Sean King and Mr Scott, who then felt a sharp pain to his head.
He said a number of blows were thrown apparently by Ryan King, as he was the only person there when Mr Scott was tussling with his brother.
Mr Killen, however, said Ryan King denied it.
The prosecutor added: "Mr Scott also felt a sharp pain to his ear and while he did not lose consciousness, he felt incredibly dizzy.
"He went outside and found his partner on the floor.
"An impromptu weapon was a glass which was used to strike the back of Mr Scott’s head causing lacerations."
The court heard he needed stitches in his ear.
Mr Killen went on: "They (the Kings) were the aggressors in an ugly incident in the home of Mr Scott and outside the home Ms Gregory was struck and knocked to the ground and suffered swelling to her jaw and a mark under her eye.
"A witness saw them walking away afterwards, pushing each other and laughing and they told him to go and see Paul Scott's face."
Both men later denied being responsible for the violence and claimed Mr Scott was the aggressor, the court heard.
The brothers, of Latham Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, had faced wounding charges but they were dropped by the Crown when they both pleaded guilty to affray.
Judge Garrett Byrne said the Kings had been asked to leave but refused and Sean King threatened Mr Scott before the tussle began.
"Then Mr Scott was hit on the back of the head with a glass, the irresistible inference is that it was Ryan.
"They both pinned him to the sofa and he was punched several times."
Judge Byrne said references spoke highly of both men and they represented a low risk of re-offending.
Both were sentenced to 15 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and a restraining order was issued.
They were also ordered to carry out 40 days of rehabilitation activities and placed under a two month curfew between 7pm and 6am.
