Brooklyn Beckham says 'it's our duty to carry on Queen's legacy' in emotional tribute

Brooklyn Beckham followed in his mum and dad's footsteps as he paid an emotional tribute to Her Majesty The Queen on the day of her funeral.

The budding chef took to Instagram on Monday to pay his respects to the Monarch and admitted no words could express the sadness he was feeling after her death.

He wrote: "There are no words to express my sadness at the loss of our esteemed Monarch, Her Majesty The Queen. Collectively, as a nation, we can only hope to show the world what she has shown us with her leadership and grace.

"It is our duty as the people of Great Britain to carry on her legacy within each of us, in all of our actions and how we live our lives. Amidst the sadness, we have to remember that this is also a time to celebrate all that she did for us. We will be forever grateful. Rest In Peace, Queen Elizabeth."

Brooklyn shared a number of throwback images of Queen Elizabeth II alongside the words, all of which included her beloved corgis. In each, her Majesty's iconic smile was on show as she was impeccably dressed in different shades of green.

He was supported by his wife Nicola Peltz, who responded to his post with a string of love heart emojis. Nicola also shared a number of the snaps her beau uploaded on her own Instagram Story.

Earlier in the day, dad David Beckham shared his own heartfelt words to mark the Royal's funeral. In his first upload, the former England captain said she was "home" after saying her final farewell.

He added: "This week the world has mourned the loss of a unique , inspirational & caring leader. People from all walks of life came together in their thousands to show gratitude for our beloved Queen.

"Alongside the incredible ceremony and tradition we have watched a loving family grieve for a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with dignity and dedication. Her legacy of service and devotion to duty will endure…"

He finished his post by exclaiming: "Long live the King."

The former footballer then followed it up by sharing snaps of the Queen with husband Prince Philip, declaring they are now "back together".
