Brooklyn Beckham's food tutorial slammed for 'costing more than families spend in a week'

Wannabe chef Brooklyn Beckham has been slammed for splashing out well over £300 to create a traditional 'Michelin style' Sunday roast for his latest cooking tutorial.

The 23-year-old's most recent attempt to dazzle in the kitchen didn't go down well after using some very expensive ingredients to make the grub "just like we have it in England" as millions of Brits struggle to put food on the table.

David and Victoria's eldest was mocked for the production and was quickly accused of being tone deaf after his latest attempt to show the world his kitchen skills on Instagram.

Brooklyn was joined by former Michelin cook Kevin Lee, but even he couldn't save the day as the culinary critics piled in.

Butchers claim a five kilo cut of the tasty sirloin he used which set you back up to £300 at a meat market.

Many of those watching knew the meal would be way too steep as families battle against the cost of living crisis.

One commented: "Such a waste, while others are starving to death. Where it’s the dislike button?' Does he not know how expensive lurpak is, defo no Costy livvy crisis over in the states?"

Another said: "What pains me the most is that probably cost more than most British families can afford to spend on food in a wk."

He was also slammed for meat that's still 'grazing' after finishing the meal (brooklynpeltzbeckham/Instagram)

A third barked: "Heart attack on a plate. Totally unnecessary amount of it. Most peoples budgets do not include ‘ aged’ any kind of meat."

In a step-by-step Insta guide, Brooklyn started with the expensive meat, coating the cut in butter, garlic and herbs before putting it in the oven.

Then came the potatoes, which the one time photographer splashed with lashings of oil and beef fat to make them "really crispy", as well as a stack of Yorkshire puddings.

Moving their attention to the vegetables, Brooklyn and Kevin grabbed the butter again which they mixed with carrot juice to create a glaze.

After Brooklyn pulled the joint from the oven, he proudly showed the meat - telling viewers: "'Just like I have it in England. The best Sunday roast."

But not everyone seemed to agree with him, with many joking that the cow looked like it was still alive.

Brooklyn has come under fire previously over his videos where he puts together basic recipes.

He's become known for whipping up meals like burgers and sandwiches for his hungry fans.

Some have pointed out the fact that he's never trained as a chef, so by appearing on TV shows in America and starring in his own Vlog, he's making a mockery of the trade.

But Brooklyn has made it clear that he is just doing something he is passionate about.

"I'm not a professional chef – at all," he told Bustle. "It's okay to be 25, 26, or even 30 and not know what you're doing yet. You know what I mean?"
