Brooklyn Beckham’s 8-minute cooking show slammed by critics over '£74k production costs'

Brooklyn Beckham has been criticised for his costly cooking show where an eight-minute episode reportedly cost $10000 and had a crew of 62 people.

The 22-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham has been busy carving a career for himself in the culinary industry but his lack of professional chef qualifications has proved some critics to dismiss his 'amateur' efforts.

In a clip from Cookin' With Brooklyn, he is shown assembling an oversized towering bagel sandwich with a hash brown, coleslaw and fried sea bream.

But according to the New York Post, the video had a team of professionals on hand including a 'culinary producer' who approves the recipes, five camera operations and nine producers.

The insider further claims each episode of the eight-minute online show, costs a whopping $100,000 - to make.

The footage shows, Brooklyn simply spreading mayonnaise on the bagel and layed the ingredients on top.

He didn't know how to fry fish and was also heard asking how to know when a hash brown is finished frying.

In the video, he said: "I eat half the fish and then I like, mess it all up and put it in two loaves of bread with the fish, vinegar, salt, mushy peas.'

Speaking to the camera, he added: "Coleslaw gives sandwiches a different texture, like a crunchy texture."

But the criticism didn't end there as a light hearted segment on The Late Late Show hosted by James Corden saw a comical cook-off between the host and the son of the footballing legend.

On the show, he was keen to show off his culinary skills when chatting about his proposal to Nicola Peltz, with the duo preparing steak frites with mushy peas.

One harsh follower posted: "'You've never worked in a kitchen. Never been to culinary school. Not spent thousands of hours in a chef's apprentice position."

Another added: "Nepotism and no talent takes you far in life."

But Brooklyn's mum Victoria and fiancee Nicole were keen to praise Brooklyn's efforts.

Nicole posted under a shot of the steaks: 'I’m so proud of you and you’re amazing!!'

Victoria meanwhile wrote: 'Can’t wait!!! Love u xxxx VB x',

But despite the backlash the Cooking with Brooklyn show has pulled in big names - due to the families star-connections - for the series where Brooklyn meets some of the world's top chefs.

One of the first to air is Brooklyn meeting Nobu Matsuhisa, who is famous for his celebrity-loved Nobu sushi restaurants.
