Wedding bells will soon be ringing out for Brooklyn Beckham and his American actress – and not to mention billionaire heiress – wife-to-be Nicola Peltz.
The 23-year-old eldest child of Beckhams Victoria, 47, and David, 46, will make 27-year-old Nicola, in her words, ‘the luckiest girl in the world’ when they say “I do” in front of family and friends at a ceremony in Florida on Saturday.
The young love birds will be dashing down the aisle just two and a half years after they first started dating – and they were engaged just months after they went ‘official’ with their romance.
But how and when did Brooklyn and Nicola first meet, when did they get engaged, and what are the details of their big day?
Read on to find out all…
Who are Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz?
Brooklyn Beckham is the eldest child of Spice Girl turned struggling fashion designer Victoria Beckham and retired footballer David.
He himself is a university drop-out, failed photographer, occasional model, and budding celebrity chef – and despite not being successful in any field is said to be worth an impressive £10 million, while his family fortune is said to be in excess of £350 million.
Nicola Peltz is an American actress and model who has starred in big-budget movies including the Transformer’s film franchise and TV shows including critically acclaimed horror-thriller Bates Motel.
She is said to be worth an estimated £50 million herself – but as the daughter of American billionaire businessman and investor Nelson Peltz, 79, stands to inherit some of his reported $1.7 billion (£1.3 billion) fortune.
First meeting and hasty romantic beginnings
Brooklyn and Nicola’s relationship has, in some ways, been something of a whirlwind baptism of fire – with the pair being thrown together in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic and surviving under conditions that caused many other couples to split.
But while their relationship officially began in 2019, they actually first met in 2017 – with Brooklyn revealing during an Instagram Q&A with followers that they met for the first time ever that year at the Coachella music festival in California.
The pair reconnected in October 2019 when they bumped into each other at a party and the sparks of romance quickly turned into an inferno of passion between the two.
Some might think that the romance was a little hasty, however, as Brooklyn was fresh from a break-up from 24-year-old model Hana Cross who he endured a high-profile, and highly explosive, relationship for nine months from 2018 until mid-2019.
But despite intense public arguments and borderline explicit PDAs with Hana grabbing headlines throughout their romance, the Beckham offspring was effectively like ‘Hana who?’ after meeting billionaire heiress Nicola – who he has been loyally stuck to practically every second ever since they started dating.
A vengeful ex
Speaking of Hana, the model and budding singer-songwriter raised eyebrows in August 2020 when she released a song that seemingly savaged Brooklyn.
Her lyrics included the cutting lines: “I wish that someone told me you had a habit for dishonesty . . . though you break my heart, I want to stay.”
While Hana’s cryptic lyrics hint that Brooklyn may have cheated on her, it’s not the first time he had been accused of being a dishonest boyfriend.
The star previously dated Hollywood actress Chloë Grace Moretz on and off between 2014 and 2018 and rumours flew that he had cheated on her when he was papped locking lips with a Playboy model named Lexi Wood in April 2018.
Speculation was further fuelled when Chloe, 25, ‘liked’ an Instagram photo showing her flipping the bird alongside a caption reading “Greeting to @brooklynbeckham from me motherf***er.”
The exchange caught the attention of gossip blogger Perez Hilton who tweeted at the time: "Seems like things did not end well between Brooklyn Beckham and Chloe Moretz. He was recently photographed making out with a Playboy model and she [Chloe] just liked THIS photo on Instagram!!"
So it’s perhaps just as well that Brooklyn and Nicola have reportedly signed ‘the mother and father of all prenups’ ahead of their wedding should these past shock allegations of disloyalty continue to come true in the future.
Romance blossoms
After Brooklyn and Nicola reconciled at the October 2019 party, their relationship continued at a galloping pace – with date nights at exclusive celebrity restaurants and the pair going ‘Instagram Official’ in January 2020.
Just three short months later, the world was changed forever when the spread of the Covid-19 virus was deemed a pandemic after it originated in Wuhan, China, before infecting victims all over the globe.
The pandemic lead to lockdowns across the world – with Brooklyn deciding to hunker down with Nicola over in New York City.
The lockdown appeared to accelerate and cement their relationship as the duo clearly fell deeply in love.
Brooklyn eventually returned to the UK in July that year, much to his mother Victoria’s delight – but it wasn’t long before Nicola was jetting across the Atlantic to be reunited with Brooklyn too, and ahead of a very important question.
Summer proposal
It was on Monday 5 July 2020 that Vicky was gushing over being reunited with her son, and then just seven days later it was revealed she would soon lose her son to a younger woman as Brooklyn got down on bended knee to ask Nicola for her hand in marriage.
On Sunday 11 July 2020, Brooklyn revealed he had proposed to Nicola two weeks earlier – just six months after declaring their romance as official.
Brooklyn shared his happy news via Instagram when he shared a photo of himself kissing Nicola who was sporting a huge diamond ring – reported to cost an eye watering £350,000.
He captioned the photo: “Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day… I love you baby xx.”
Nicola herself reacted to the post and gushed: "You’ve made me the luckiest girl in the world.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. your love is the most precious gift. I love you so so much baby and thank you Harper for this pic.”
Wedding plans
On Saturday 9 April 2022, Brooklyn and Nicola will swap vows in front of family, friends and an A-List crowd at a luxury beachside estate in Florida which belongs to Nicola’s insanely rich family.
Guest that are expected to attend include celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, rap sensation Snoop Dogg, and the other members of the Spice Girls.
Meanwhile, Nicola has reportedly opted to shun the designs of her soon-to-be mother-in-law and will not wear a Victoria Beckham dress when she walks down the aisle.
Instead, the star is said to have picked out a luxurious gown by legendary Italian fashion house Valentino.
While reports have also said that the actress will be helped with all her style choices by A List fashion stylist Leslie Fremar on the day.
