Brooke Vincent praised for honest message about being mum to sons with 18-month age gap as she 'feels like crying'

Brooke Vincent has been flooded with praise as she shared an honest message about being a mum to two boys under the age of two. The former Coronation Street star announced in April 2019 that she was pregnant with her first child with her now-fiance Kean Bryan.

Mexx S J Bryan made his arrival into the world in October of the same year and just over a year later, in November 2020, Brooke, who is famed for playing Sophie Webster in the ITV soap announced she was pregnant with her second child, Monroe, who was born in May 2021.

Brooke was flooded with questions about life as a mum when she opened up her Instagram DMs for a Q&A. One follower asked the former soap star, who played Sophie Webster in the ITV soap: "Would you recommend having two little ones so close together?" After initially answering questions with worded replies, Brooke decided to appear on video to answer.

"I feel like I don't have enough space on my screen to write my answer," she laughed before saying: "Would I recommend it? To my friends, I'm like, 'No, don't do it!' But it's just utter chaos. I'm not going to lie, it's absolute chaos. Day in, day out is like a circus in my house."

However, the 30-year-old then added: "There's been so many moments like that since I've had Monroe where I've been like, 'how are we going to get out the house, how are we going to get on holiday,' but you do. You just do it. I think if you're lucky enough and it's something you want to do then do it, 100 percent because... there's no going back now but I think you just need to be aware it can be really hard at times."

But it wasn't long before she was asked if she was thinking of expanding her brood, to which Brooke said: "I actually get asked this all the time. I always say to people who have got three, 'what is it that made you [have] three.?' because when I had Mexx, I thought I had boxed it.

And now Brooke has returned to talking about having her hand full with her two young boys as her youngest son's second birthday approaches. Sharing an adorable picture of Mexx planting a loving kiss on a then baby Monroe, Brooke penned: "This picture," before continuing: "I could cry at this picture. I remember the time so clearly, yet the days are merged into one big ball of chaotic love.

"Monroe was around 2 months old and Mexx 18 months. That time when they couldn’t be alone for even a second. I never remember exactly what happened on the days when I look back at pictures I just remember it being an utter circus. Not much has changed to be honest.

"I speak to friends who have this age gap and I laugh and say it doesn’t get any easier. The truth is their nuisance antics that stress me out daily are not a patch on the love and happiness they bring to me. Time goes so fast! TOO fast!! I’m nearly crying at the fact Monroe turns 2 in two months."

"Fact is.. I was winging it then, just like I have today so when I say not much has changed that’s exactly what I mean. She then added: "To the mums that message me daily about their children’s antics and their similar age gap.. we’re all in the chaos together."

Former Corrie and Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon was among the first to respond to the message, writing: "You are an incredible mum. And an honest mum on social media. And that’s what other mamas need. Love you." And Brooke's fans and followers were also sharing messages.

@mama.greenlees said: "Mine are also 16m apart and wouldn’t change the chaos at all. Best decision we ever made." @joannepernell81 shared: "There 16 months between my older 2. They are now 24 and 22 , and are the best of friends. And even after 24 years of being a parent in still winging it."

@ginjey_h applauded: "Honest parenting." @edwinaaof replied; "Precious little humans. Motherhood is a tough gig xxx." @maria.sheen commented: "Think we always wing it with our kids haha mine are 40 ,33 and 25 and still I wing it enjoy u beautiful babies." @little_stories_uk posted: "Love this post so true!! It's all worth it. All the chaos isn't it." @lynn_osborne_ added: "You have two beautiful boys,If you have chaos it's lovely chaos. They are a credit to you."
