Brooke Norton-Cuffy gets new nickname as Arsenal agree two deals ahead of summer transfer window

The past week has seen movement regarding two players spending the season away from Arsenal.

As a result, it can now be confirmed that Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos will not be returning to north London once their respective spells at Marseille and Stuttgart come to an end.

Those are two deals that have already been agreed by the Gunners ahead of the summer transfer window and football.london understands there is a sell-on clause for the Greece international which is likely to be in the region of 10%.

Meanwhile, Marseille president Pablo Longoria has confirmed that Guendouzi will join the French side on a permanent basis at the end of the season, signing a three-year deal to end the Arsenal chapter in his career.

And in their first games following this update, Guendouzi - alongside William Saliba - was in the Marseille side that were beaten 1-0 by Monaco and Mavropanos helped Stuttgart fight back from 2-0 down to beat Borussia Monchengladbach 3-2.

But how did the rest of Arsenal's loan players get on? football.london takes a look.

Arguably the biggest winner of the Gunners' loan army this weekend was youngster Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who continues to show why he can end up saving the club millions of pounds on a new right-back.

On his ninth appearance for Lincoln City, he scored his first professional goal in their 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday - without Tyreece John-Jules once again - on an afternoon he won't soon forget.

And to cap it off, he was not only named man-of-the-match by supporters but the club's official Twitter account coined a new nickname for the teenager. comparing him to a Brazilian legend.

"BROOKE NORTON-CAFU!!!!," the tweet read.

If Norton-Cuffy can reach the heights of Cafu then he certainly has a massive and successful future ahead of him.

Speaking of right-backs, it was a mixed week for Hector Bellerin as three days after Real Betis reached the Copa Del Rey final, they were beaten 3-1 at home by Atletico Madrid - a result that has seen them drop out of the top four in La Liga.

Folarin Balogun can have little complaints as after helping Middlesbrough dump Tottenham Hotspur out of the FA Cup on Tuesday night, he played just over an hour of the 2-1 win over Luton Town as Chris Wilder's side remain in the hunt for the Championship play-offs.

Reiss Nelson made his return from injury to play the final 18 minutes of Feyenoord's draw with Groningen, Runar Alex Runarsson was in goal as Leuven were beaten 3-1 by Eupen and Auston Trusty played the full game as Colorado beat Atlanta in their second MLS game of the new season.

Over in Italy, Lucas Torreira's Fiorentina were held at home by Verona, Pablo Mari made his fifth straight start for Udinese as they beat Sampdoria and Ainsley Maitland-Niles watched on the bench once again as Roma beat Atalanta 1-0.

Although, he did have a front-row seat as Tammy Abraham - linked with a move to Arsenal last summer - netted his 20th goal of the season.

Daniel Ballard made a triumphant return to the Millwall starting lineup as they beat a Reading side who were without injured goalkeeper Karl Hein by a goal-to-nil at the Select Car Leasing Stadium (formally the Madejski Stadium).

Matt Smith and Jordi Osei-Tutu had afternoons to forget as Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham United were beaten, whilst Ryan Alebiosu missed Crewe's 3-1 defeat at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

As revealed by Daily Cannon last month, Tom Smith is still on loan at Welling United but didn't feature in their 2-2 draw against Billericay Town.

As per transfermarkt, Harry Clarke will soon be able to make his Hibernian debut which been delayed because of a hamstring problem.

Tim Akinola has still only made one Dundee United appearance so far as he was an unused substitute on Saturday against Hearts.

Meanwhile, Nikolaj Moller is yet to get on the scoresheet for Den Bosch after drawing another blank in their 4-0 loss away at Excelsior and Jordan McEneff couldn't help Shelbourne avoid defeat at home to Derry City.
