Bronny James’s High School Career Ends With Playoff Loss

Bronny James’s high school career officially came to an end Tuesday following Sierra Canyon’s 80–61 loss to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

LeBron James’s eldest child, who finished the night with 10 points, leaves preps without a state title despite the team’s 95–22 overall record during his high school career. Now, the On3 five-star 2023 recruit will look toward his college career where three reported finalists hope he’ll don their jersey in the ’23–24 season.

The regional-final loss ended Bronny and the Trailblazer’s bid for a CIF Southern California Division I state championship appearance. It was the fourth meeting between the teams this season—and the Knights came out victorious each time. Bronny ends his senior season averaging 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals according to MaxPreps

Luca Evans of the Los Angeles Times reported in January that Bronny was expected to make his decision after his season ended. With high school play now behind him, Bronny is expected to choose between his reported top options: Ohio State, USC and Oregon. His college stock rose on Tuesday, too, after On3 rated the 18-year-old a five-star recruit, though ESPN and 247Sports still have him as a four-star.

Bronny could be a year out from being drafted and playing with his superstar father in the NBA. LeBron, never shy to boast about his children’s accomplishments, recently said his older son is even better than some pro players. The proud father, who hopes to play alongside both his sons professionally, also lauded Bronny after the team’s quarterfinal win in early March.

“Bronny you were SPECIAL tonight kid!! Keep going! #AlwaysProudDad,” he tweeted.
