There has been plenty of pressure on Bronny James to succeed in his basketball career, and things got off to a slow start for the rookie. His Summer League appearances were underwhelming at best, and his seven games played for the Lakers this season have come at an average of 2.6 minutes per.
But his time in the G-League is proving to be successful thus far, as he has lately been putting up impressive numbers.
Bronny James Is Averaging 14.7 Points In The G-League
James has played in 9 games at the lower level so far this year. He averages 14.7 points per to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists, all in 27.9 minutes. In the span of the last seven contests, he has eclipsed 15 points in six of them, and had a 23 point, 9 rebound, 5 assist performance in the South Bay Lakers game on Saturday night.
While the initial stats are a marked improvement, there is still work for Bronny James to do on his efficiency. He is converting his 5 three-point attempts per game at a 28.3% clip, and his overall shooting percentage meager 38%. He struggles with turnovers as well, averaging more than 3 per game.

His G-League numbers are promising, and he could eventually find himself making more appearances at the NBA level. The most recent appearance for James with the Lakers came on December 8th, which was nearly a month from his previous game. While it is unlikely that Los Angeles will need to bring up any players from their minor league team for depth purposes, LeBron James is a phone call away from having his son re-join him.
The next game for Bronny James and the South Bay Lakers will be on January 3rd against Mexico City.
