Bronny James has been discharged from hospital

Fans of LeBron James and the entire sports world went into shock on Tuesday when it was reported that his son Bronny James had suffered cardiac arrest and was hospitalized as a result.

On Thursday, Dr. Merije Chukumerije, who served as the younger James’ consulting cardiologist, released a statement updating his condition. The statement said he had been released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a world-class hospital in Los Angeles near Beverly Hills.

While the younger James may be out of the woods, at least for now, many doctors believe his burgeoning basketball career is in jeopardy. He recently committed to play his college ball at the University of Southern California, and many believe he has the potential to make it to the NBA.

The elder James gives thanks

The elder James took to Twitter early on Thursday to thank all those that gave his family positive vibes and well wishes after his son’s medical scare.

The four-time MVP recently confirmed he will continue to play for the Los Angeles Lakers this fall after hinting at retirement.
