Brondby star sports Cyriel Dessers Rangers shirt in charity fundraiser

Brondby star Sean Klaiber sported a Rangers shirt with Cyriel Dessers' name on the back as the club carried out a charity fundraiser for the Children's Cancer Foundation.

Each player arrived at the training ground wearing a football top of their choice.

Klaiber played with Dessers for two years at FC Utrecht in the Netherlands and remains good friends with the striker.

Indeed, in a TikTok video posted on Brondby's official page, Klaiber walked in with a Rangers home shirt on that had 'Dessers 9' printed on the back.

He could be heard saying, 'My Belgian best friend'; Dessers was, of course, born in the Tongeren region of the country, although qualifies to play for Nigeria through his mother.

The centre-forward has been in fine fettle under the stewardship of interim Rangers head coach Barry Ferguson.

The 30-year-old has scored four goals in Ferguson's first three games at the helm, including a crucial opener away to Fenerbahce in the Europa League last Thursday.

Jose Mourinho, who manages the Turkish outfit, was impressed by the frontman's performance: "Dessers is a good player," he said.

"But today he looked like the best player in the world, but he is not."

Rangers welcome Mourinho's men to Ibrox for the second leg of the last 16 tie on Thursday.
