Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy fined $36,281 for Week 14 outburst

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has been fined $36,281 by the NFL after his on-field outburst against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, according to multiple reports.

Jeudy’s offenses included removing his helmet on the field and making contact with an official. Jeudy could have been penalized for either infraction — and he could have been ejected for bumping an official — but he was not penalized on Sunday.

The incident has hit the receiver in his wallet, though.

Jeudy received a $23,030 fine for making contact with an official, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He also received an additional $13,261 fine for removing his helmet, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

That’s a total fine of $36,281.

Jeudy explained after the game that he was held on the previous play and he was upset that there was no flag, and he acknowledged that he has to control his temper.

Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett spoke with the receiver after the outburst.

“I went to address it right away and talk with him,” the coach said. “He definitely knew that he was wrong. That’s unacceptable. You can’t do that. We’ve addressed that and I know that he knows he can’t do that. I know he was very frustrated at the time, but that’s just something you can’t do.”

Jeudy went on to score three touchdowns after that incident. He has totaled 42 receptions for 587 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games this season.
