Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was carted off the field during a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, according to multiple reporters tweeting from practice.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Thursday that Jeudy left practice with an “apparent hamstring injury.”

Jeudy, 24, is entering his fourth season with the Broncos. He missed six games due to injury in 2021 and two games last season. The former first-round pick has totaled 157 receptions for 2,295 yards and nine touchdowns through his first 41 games in the NFL (33 starts).

Denver has been hit extremely hard by wide receiver injuries this season. Tim Patrick (ACL) and Jalen Virgil (meniscus) are already out for the year and KJ Hamler was waived with a non-football illness designation last month. Now Jeudy is sidelined as well.

Broncos coach Sean Payton was asked about the injury after practice.

“It’s a hamstring,” Payton said. “We’ll get an MRI, and see where he’s at with it, but nothing more [to share].”

Jeudy’s status for the team’s Week 1 showdown with the Las Vegas Raiders is now in doubt, but it’s not a season-ending injury.
