The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season, a win that was highlighted by the team’s “No Fly Zone” defense.
Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller dominated the contest, winning Super Bowl MVP honors after recording 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Fellow pass rusher DeMarcus Ware also had a big game with two sacks.
The secondary also made big plays: Denver safety T.J. Ward grabbed an interception and fellow safety Darian Stewart forced a fumble.
Nine years after that Super Bowl victory, Miller is the only starter on defense who remains in the NFL. Fellow pass rusher Shaq Barrett is still in the league, but he was a rotational player in 2015.
Nine players from the starting defense have officially retired. Linebacker Danny Trevathan had an injury-riddled season in 2021 and hasn’t played since the Chicago Bears cut him in 2022.
Here’s a quick list of the Broncos’ starters from Super Bowl 50.
