The Sean Payton era is underway.
The Denver Broncos are set to begin Phase 3 of their offseason program on Tuesday with the start of organized team activities (OTAs). Denver will have a three-day session this week (May 23-25) followed by three more days next week (May 30-June 1) and a third session after that (June 5-8).
Phase 3 of the offseason is a four-week period featuring up to 10 days of OTAs. Teams are not permitted to practice live contact, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.
These OTA practice sessions are technically voluntary, but with Payton making his debut this spring, most of the team’s players will likely be in attendance to make a good first impression.
After wrapping up OTAs, the Broncos will hold a minicamp from June 13-15, and that camp will be mandatory. Players will then have a summer break before reporting back for the start of training camp in late July.
