The Denver Broncos scheduled an interview with Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett at the NFL combine in Indianapolis this week, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.
The Broncos also spoke with Pickett at the Senior Bowl in Mobile earlier this offseason. Pickett and Liberty’s Malik Willis are widely considered the top two QBs in this year’s class, with a varying 1-2 order depending on who you ask.
Pickett (6-3, 220 pounds) completed 67.2% of his passes for 4,319 yards with 42 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 13 games with the Panthers last fall.
Pickett has been a popular mock draft choice for Denver at No. 9 overall, and NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah believes he would be the “best fit” for Nathaniel Hackett’s offense among the QBs in this year’s draft.
Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has Pickett ranked as the No. 2 QB in this year’s class, behind Willis. The draft will be held in Las Vegas from April 28-30.
