Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at seventh-year cornerback Levi Wallace, No. 39.
Before the Broncos: Wallace (6-0, 179 pounds) entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama with the Buffalo Bills in 2018. After four years in Buffalo, Wallace had a two-year stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2022-2023. The 29-year-old cornerback has totaled 305 tackles, 54 pass breakups and 12 interceptions in 83 career games (70 starts). After starting all 17 games for the Bills in 2021, Wallace started nine games for the Steelers in each of the last two seasons.
Broncos tenure: Denver signed Wallace to a one-year deal in April to add depth and competition at cornerback. Wallace is part of a secondary depth chart that also includes Pat Surtain, Ja’Quan McMillian, Riley Moss, Damarri Mathis and roookie Kris Abrams-Draine at cornerback.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Likely. Wallace has plenty of starting experience, making him a good fallback option in case one of Moss or Mathis don’t take a big step forward in 2024. Even if the Broncos start one of their young CBs across from Surtain this season, Wallace can provide quality depth.
