Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at rookie quarterback Bo Nix, No. 10.
Before the Broncos: Nix (6-2, 217 pounds) began his college career at Auburn, spending three years with the Tigers before transferring to Oregon in 2022. He went on to play two seasons with the Ducks, completing 74.9% of his passes for 8,101 yards with 74 touchdown passes against 10 interceptions. Nix also rushed for 744 yards and 20 touchdowns at Oregon.
Nix is a smart, accurate passer with a quick release (which has drawn comparisons to Drew Brees). He went 43-18 as a starter in college.
Broncos tenure: Denver picked Nix in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft (12th overall) in April. He is now set to compete with Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson for the starting quarterback job this summer.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Lock. Even if he doesn’t start in Week 1, Nix is a lock to make the active roster as a rookie. Nix is the Broncos’ quarterback of the future, and he’s considered the early favorite to win the starting job this summer.
