The Broncos will release veteran pass rusher Frank Clark after failing to find a trade partner, per multiple reports Friday morning.
Clark signed with Denver in June on a one-year, $7.5 million deal, but he was never able to gain traction with the Broncos. The pass rusher only played in two of Denver’s six games this year, totaling two tackles and no sacks.
Earlier this week, the Broncos and Clark restructured their contract, make it easier to engineer a trade, but Denver still was unable to find a suitor for the 30-year-old linebacker. Clark is the second notable pass rusher the Broncos have parted with in the past week, joining Randy Gregory, whom Denver traded to the 49ers last weekend.

Before joining the Broncos, Clark spent four seasons with the Chiefs, totaling 23 1/2 sacks in 58 games. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Clark’s reuniting with the Chiefs will “at least be discussed” when he officially becomes a free agent.
