Broncos QB Russell Wilson optimistic after first home win

After the Denver Broncos held on to defeat the Green Bay Packers 19-17 on Sunday afternoon, quarterback Russell Wilson gushed with praise for his teammates and the fans at Empower Field at Mile High.

“That was huge for us, man,” Wilson said after the game. “I thought it was a great team effort across the board. I thought the offensive line played [an] amazing, amazing game today — giving me enough time to make all the throws. They were so solid up front. They were great in the run game. I thought our [running] backs did great.

“I thought our defense was unbelievable. They came up with some huge, huge stops. They’ve been getting better and better every week and that’s what you want. You want to keep rising — keep believing. Just to win in front of our fans, Broncos Country, to be able to get it done was really special. The fans were great. We feed off of their energy and it really does make a difference when the games on the line.”

Wilson has always been relentlessly positive, and Sunday was no exception. After securing the team’s first home win of the season and second win overall, Wilson and his teammates will now aim to upset the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.
