After facing Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby in Week 12, the Denver Broncos are now set to face Cleveland Browns star defensive lineman Myles Garrett in Week 13.
“They’re different [types of] players,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said last Wednesday. “They’re both elite at their position. They’re both Pro Bowl, All-Pro-type caliber players that can take over a game.
“We have a ton of respect for those guys. It forces you to have a really good plan for them. That requires a little bit more work, a little bit more calories during the evening meetings, but it’s necessary.”
Garrett, 28, has totaled 190 quarterback hits and 98.5 sacks through his first eight years (111 games) in the NFL. Denver has done a respectable job limiting his damage in past matchups as Garrett has three QB hits and 1.5 sacks in four career games against the Broncos.
After preventing Crosby from recording any sacks last week, Denver’s offensive line will aim for a similar performance against Garrett.
