Broncos offseason roster: No. 23, CB Ronald Darby

Broncos Wire’s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at eighth-year cornerback Ronald Darby, No. 23.

Before the Broncos: Darby (5-11, 193 pounds) entered the NFL as a second-round pick out of Florida State with the Buffalo Bills in 2015. He was later traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 and he won Super Bowl LII that year. After three seasons in Philly, he had a one-year stint in Washington in 2020.

Broncos tenure: Denver signed Darby to a three-year, $30 million contract last year. He arrived in Denver with 81 pass breakups and eight interceptions on his resume. Darby missed six games with a shoulder injury last season, but he played well when healthy, allowing only 38 completions on 70 targets.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Darby is considered a lock to make the team and he’s poised to start across from Pat Surtain in the Broncos’ secondary. Darby will be seeking his first interception wearing orange and blue this fall.
