Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims was sidelined when the team held a light ramp-up practice on Wednesday ahead of Friday’s official start to training camp.
Mims dealt with a hamstring injury during the final weeks of organized team activities this spring and he apparently suffered an additional hamstring injury before training camp.
“He’ll be full in about four days, five days. Maybe a week,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said Wednesday, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. “And it’s not the same hamstring. It’s something from a workout more recently.”
Elsewhere on the injury front, running back Javonte Williams (knee) avoided the physically unable to perform list, but he will have limited practices and occasional off days to begin camp, Payton said.
The Broncos understandably want to be smart with Williams so he doesn’t do too much too soon and suffer any setbacks in his recovery from a torn ACL. Denver’s first open practice of the summer will be the team’s first full-speed practice on Friday.
