The Arizona Cardinals did not make the postseason, so their fans get to watch the playoffs with no true rooting interest. However, there are some Cardinals-related reasons to watch because every team left in the postseason has soon-to-be free agents and some could end up offseason targets for Arizona.
The Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills play the first of three playoff games on Sunday.
Below are some players on Denver’s roster scheduled to be free agents who could be potential targets for some of the Cardinals’ offseason needs.
Potentials Cardinals free agent targets on Broncos
QB Zach Wilson
The former No. 2 overall pick will be a free agent. The Cardinals are set at starting quarterback but perhaps might want to upgrade their backup spot over Clayton Tune.
LB Justin Strnad
It appears the Cardinals will let Kyzir White go in free agency. That opens a spot at linebacker, either to start or to play depth if the Cardinals believe White’s replacement in the starting lineup is on the roster.
Strnad played every game for Denver this season and started eight games. He had 73 tackles, three sacks and three pass breakups.
OT Matt Peart
With Kelvin Beachum set to become a free agent, the Cardinals could target a tackle who could be a spot starter. Peart has been that for five seasons in the NFL for the Giants and Broncos. He is 6-foot-7 and 318 pounds.
