Following an ugly 42-17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Saturday, the Denver Broncos are now ranked at No. 16 in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That’s down seven spots from their No. 9 ranking last week.
Here is Davis’ commentary on Denver’s ahead of Week 16:
Wasn’t pretty at all Saturday at Ford Field. But they close with the Pats, Bolts and Raiders – a pretty good opportunity to snatch a wild card. Failing that? Scream at Russell Wilson.
Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Kansas Chiefs are ranked No. 5, the Los Angeles Chargers are ranked No. 31 and the Las Vegas Raiders are ranked No. 21.
Meanwhile, the New England Patriots — who the Broncos will host on Christmas Eve in Week 16 — are ranked No. 30 this week.
The Carolina Panthers are ranked No. 32 (last) and the San Francisco 49ers are ranked No. 1. To view the complete NFL power rankings going into Week 16, visit USATODAY.com.
