The Denver Broncos have elevated offensive tackle Cam Fleming and guard/center Calvin Throckmorton from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Sunday’s showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers, the team announced Saturday.
Players can be elevated up to three times during the season without having to clear waivers to return to the practice squad. This marks the first elevations for both Throckmorton and Fleming (who was just signed earlier this week).
With right tackle Alex Palczewski (ankle) ruled out this week and Mike McGlinchey still on injured reserve, Fleming will likely serve as a backup swing tackle against the Chargers. Throckmorton will provide more depth at center after Luke Wattenberg (ankle) was placed on injured reserve.
Throckmorton and Fleming will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.
Denver’s game against Los Angeles will be regionally televised on CBS. Despite playing at home with a three-game winning streak, the Broncos are considered underdogs against the Chargers this week.
