Delarrin Turner-Yell filled in against the Commanders after Jackson was ejected. Turner-Yell later left the game with cramps, forcing the team to move cornerback Essang Bassey to safety across from Justin Simmons.

Jackson avoided a suspension for the hit on Thomas, but this marks the second week in a row that the safety has been fined. Jackson was also fined $14,819 for his hit on Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers in Week 1.

Meyers and Thomas both suffered concussions from the head hits. Meyers missed Week 2 and Thomas won’t play in Week 3.

Jackson, 35, totaled two tackles before being ejected against Washington. On 90 snaps this season, the veteran defensive back has recorded six tackles, one interception and one pass breakup.
