Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons helped secure a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London last week, but the victory came at a price for the defensive back.
Simmons was fined $10,609 by the NFL after he was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct in the first quarter against Jacksonville. Officials flagged Simmons for taunting after he made a tackle for a two-yard loss.
Simmons made up for that penalty eight plays later when he intercepted a Trevor Lawrence pass in the end zone to prevent a Jaguars touchdown. That interception kept the Broncos within seven points of Jacksonville in a game that was ultimately decided by just four points.
Simmons ended the game with five tackles, one pass breakup and one crucial interception, helping Denver secure a 21-17 win at Wembley Stadium.
The Broncos returned home after their win in London and received a much-needed bye on Sunday. They will go on the road to face the Tennessee Titans next week.
