The Denver Broncos have won three straight games and they are trending up going into Sunday’s game showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers. Before that matchup, the team could get reinforcements from injured reserve.
Broncos running back Audric Estime (ankle) is eligible to return from IR this week and the team has an open spot on the active roster after placing fellow running back Tyler Badie (back) on IR last week.
After saving a spot on the active roster, Denver seems likely to activate Estime this week to serve as the team’s third-string running back behind Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin.
After being inactive for the first four games of the season, Blake Watson made his NFL debut in Week 5 because Estime and Badie were both on IR. The Broncos’ staff didn’t seem to have much confidence in Watson, though, as he played just one snap on offense and one snap on special teams against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Watson will likely return to being a healthy scratch on game days once Estime returns to the 53-man roster, perhaps as early as this week.
