Broncos CB Pat Surtain named PFF’s Defensive Player of the Week

Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain recently received the award of PFF’s Defensive Player of the Week award. Last week, Surtain was a cornerback on a mission, recording two interceptions and taking one to the house for a 100-yard score.

For those efforts, Surtain received an award from Pro Football Focus, as he was announced as Week 5’s Defensive Player of the Week:

It’s impressive to record as many interceptions (2) as receptions allowed in coverage, but Surtain took it a step further, returning one of those interceptions for a 100-yard touchdown.

So far, five games into the season, Surtain is doing his part to help the Broncos become considered a playoff team. He has 14 tackles, four passes defended, and two interceptions. Last week, allowing just two receptions in coverage shows how much he impacts the Broncos’ defense.

Congrats to Pat Surtain on another honor, showcasing his skill as an elite defender in the NFL.
