Denver Broncos fourth-year cornerback Pat Surtain recently made Cody Benjamin’s list of the top 25 NFL players under 25 on CBS Sports.
Surtain’s resume three years in is rock solid: two Pro Bowl nods and a first-team All-Pro nomination, too. As an anchor of the Broncos’ defense, he has established a reputation as a lockdown cornerback, deflecting 36 passes and intercepting the ball seven times in his career.
Although there have been minor slippage in his interceptions each year, Surtain still made Benjamin’s list as the 13th-best player under 25.
“Expectations have always been high for Surtain, the son of a former Pro Bowl corner,” Benjamin wrote on CBS Sports. “That’s yet to be an issue, as he’s had at least 10 pass deflections in each of his three seasons. While his pick totals have dropped since his rookie year, he’s been reliable on an otherwise rebuilding roster.”
Surtain will attempt to help Denver reach the playoffs for the first time since 2015 this fall. Entering his second season in Vance Joseph’s defense, PS2 seems poised to have a big year.
