Big news and not good news out of the Bay Area on Friday. The 5-5 San Francisco 49ers will be in Green Bay on Sunday to play the Packers without two of their best players.
Quarterback Brock Purdy and defensive lineman Nick Bosa will not play in the game. Purdy has an injured right shoulder,
The quarterback for San Francisco will be Brandon Allen.
Allen has not thrown a pass in an NFL game since 2022 when he was 3-for-3 as a Cincinnati Bengal.
In his NFL career, he has thrown for 1,096 yards with 10 TD passes and six picks.
Bosa has hip and oblique injuries. He has seven sacks and one interception in 2024.
