Brock Bowers already looks like the gem of the 2024 NFL draft class

If you’re an NFL general manager or Southeast area scout watching Saturday’s game between No. 1 Georgia and South Carolina, you’re probably wishing that Georgia tight end Brock Bowers was eligible for the upcoming 2023 NFL draft.

Despite being just a true sophomore, Bowers has already shown flashes of brilliance during his tenure with the Bulldogs. Saturday’s dominant performance in a blowout win over the Gamecocks is just the latest chapter in what should be a long, scary story for opposing defenses.

Bowers didn’t play much in the second half Saturday, but still finished with 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just five receptions, averaging a whopping 24.2 yards per catch. He added another score on the ground, showing off his big-play ability in various ways:

Bowers is just 19 years old, and already proving to be one of the most versatile, dynamic offensive weapons in college football. Listed at 6-4, 230 pounds, Bowers doesn’t even have the massive frame usually associated with elite tight end prospects. Even so, it’s clear that his rare skill set should have him near the top of most teams early boards for the 2024 draft.
