An application has been made to the city council to launch an outdoor bar in Quakers Friars during the summer. The application has been made by Freeman & Schmidt Ltd, a Bournemouth-based company, which is also looking to use the space during the Bristol Christmas Market.
The council's licence list says: "The premises will occupy an open space in a pedestrian precinct. It is proposed to erect a circular bar structure for use in the summer months, until September 30, and replace it with a rectangular structure for use in the Winter months, from November 3 until December 23."
Rel-event Productions has already submitted plans to extend the Bristol Christmas Market into Quakers Friars offering new attractions and stalls over the festive period. A spokesperson said the company takes 'great pride in delivering one of the highlights of the Bristol Festive calendar and [is] really excited about coming back to the heart of Bristol city centre this year'.
