Brixton Hill shooting: Boy, 16, lucky to be alive after being found with gunshot wound

A 16-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after a shooting in Brixton on Wednesday night.

Detectives investigating the shooting, which took place in Fairmount Road, off Brixton Hill, around  9.45pm, said: “This could easily be a murder investigation.”

The victim was found in a residential address with a gunshot wound and rushed to hospital to be treated for a serious injury. His condition has now stabilised.

Met Detective Constable Nick Fletcher said: “The victim of this shooting, a 16-year-old boy, has suffered a serious injury but is now in a stable condition in hospital.

“I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the Fairmount Road area on Wednesday evening.”

No arrests have been made.
