Before tip-off of Baylor's Big 12 clash against Texas Tech on Sunday at the Foster Pavilion, the Bears took the time to honor one of the most successful players to ever emerge from the school's basketball program, Brittney Griner.
Griner, a 2014 WNBA champion and a member of the Phoenix Mercury, returned to Waco, Tx. for the Bears' game against the Red Raiders, which featured a pregame retirement of her no. 42 Baylor jersey.
The program unveiled the jersey, which will hang inside of Foster Pavilion, to the delight of the Baylor fans in attendance.

Griner, who won a pair of Naismith, Wooden and Associated Press Player of the Year awards during her college career, helped lead Baylor to a legendary, 40—0 season and a national title in 2011-12. She averaged 22.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.1 blocks per game in her decorated Bears career spanning four seasons.
