People hoping for a summer getaway have been warned they may need to double check their eligibility to travel - if they are still using a red passport.
Entry rules for different countries mean that some red passports may not be legal to travel on, even if they have not yet reached their expiry date.
The passport validity rules of many countries set out that a passport must be valid for another six months after your departure date for international travel.
It is a rule which applies to a large number of countries across the world, and often causes problems at an airport terminal - it is easy to forget about the six month rule, when your passport is still valid.
A number of countries also apply a three month passport validity rule. For non-EU countries travelling to the EU, the passport must be valid for three months after the date you leave the EU - owning an old EU-British passport does not affect this.
VisaGuide.World says there are 70 countries with the six month passport rule, and 41 with the three month rule.
All red passports in the UK are due to expire relatively soon, so it is recommended that you check your validity to travel, if you plan on catching some summer sun.
