Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp has criticised Britain’s work ethic, saying the country needs to “up its game” to compete with nations like China and India.
The senior Conservative MP told BBC Radio 4 that nine million working-age adults are not employed, adding, “we need a work ethic.”
“We need everyone to make a contribution,” he said during the interview.
In response, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper fired back, stating, “The Conservatives could do with showing a bit more humility after trashing the economy and leaving the NHS on its knees.”
