Britney Spears to make musical comeback with Elton John after conservatorship

Britney Spears is set to make her return to the music scene in a collaboration with Elton John, it has been announced.

Toxic singer Britney, 40, and and 75-year-old Elton are working on an exciting new project for her return to the music industry, following the end of her conservatorship.

Britney's 13 year long conservatorship was officially put to an end in November last year, following the uprise of the #FreeBritney movement.

Following the end of her conservatorship, it was reported she could make a return to the music scene by collaborating with Lady Gaga's music team.

But, it was later reported she and Elton were planning something exciting for her return to the stage instead.

Details of the project are limited but it has been speculated the pair will join forces on a new version of Sir Elton’s 1971 hit Tiny Dancer.

Sir Elton has since teased the project as he shared an image on his Instagram page on Monday August 8.

Elton posted a snippet of the lyrics to his song Tiny Dancer in the image, which read: "Hold me closer" followed by the rose emoji and rocket emoji.

Britney has become associated with the rose emoji as she used it in a number of social media posts throughout her conservatorship battle. While the rocket emoji appears to reference Elton, following his hit song Rocket Man.

More information due to be shared in the coming week, a spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, fans could barely contain their excitement in the comments as one wrote: "AHHH BRITNEY IS COMING".

"Britney is back!!," a second cheered while another added: "OH MY GOD QUEEN BRITNEY IS BACK".

Britney has been on an indefinite work hiatus since 2019. She last performed on stage for her Piece of Me LAs Vegas residency from 2013 to 2017.

She was set to undertake a second residency, titled Britney: Domination, but that was later cancelled.

It comes as Britney has hit back at her ex-husband Kevin Federline as he claimed in an interview their sons haven't seen the singer in months.

Britney and Kevin, 44, share sons Sean, 16, and 15-year-old Jayden from their brief marriage.

In an ITV News interview, Kevin claimed Sean and Jayden haven't seen their son in months.

"The boys have decided that they don't want to see her right now. It's been a few months since they've seen her.

"They made the decision not to go to her wedding. It's been tough, it's been really, really tough. It's the most challenging thing I've ever had to do in my life," Kevin said.

Kevin added that her sons are also "hurt" by her social media posts – where she is regularly baring it all.

Britney recently hit back at claims her ex Kevin Federline made about their sons (INSTAGRAM)

He claimed he feels sorry for his sons as he said: "I apologise for them. To them and for them because I can't imagine how it feels to be a teen having to go to high school, who knows how many people ask them about it. I ask them have people said anything and they kind of brush it off.

"They try to give her the benefit of the doubt but at the same time it hurts. Here you are a teen, figuring out your own stuff but you also have to deal with this extra aspect. I try to explain that's its just another way in which she tries to express herself, but it doesn't take away from the fact that what it does to them, it's tough."

Britney later hit back as she wrote in a statement shared via Instagram Stories: "It saddens me to hear that my ex husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children.

"As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone. It concerns me the fact that the reasons is based on my Instagram… it was LONG before Instagram.

"I gave them everything… Only one word: HURTFUL… I’ll say it… My mother told me ‘You should GIVE them to their dad’."
