Britney Spears has sparked pregnancy rumours as she has returned to Instagram days after she seemingly deleted her account without a trace.
The 40-year-old Oops!… I Did It Again legend threw her almost 40 million followers into a panic on Wednesday when she abruptly deleted her account on photo sharing app Instagram.
However, she had her page back up and running in time for the weekend – reactivating the account and sharing photographs of herself posing in a midriff-baring outfit.
The chart topping star flashed a smile as she posed in a white top that included dramatic, puffy, sheer-material sleeves and paired it with a short, dark coloured, velour miniskirt.
She also wore a pair of brown heels and looked relaxed at home as she shared the collage of images along with the caption: “My clueless look.”
The singer’s 39.9 million followers were thrilled to see her back online and sharing the wholesome snaps – with one writing: “SHE’S BACK”, another typing: “There you are” and another happy fan writing: “Thank you, ma'am.”
Fan reactions took a dramatic turn, however, when minutes later Britney shared videos of a heavily pregnant woman touching her own stomach – with the unborn child clearly moving inside the pregnant tummy.
The video, by a TikTok user named ‘lirios9595’, was shared by the singer along with the caption: “Mommy … get me out of here.”
The decision to share the video left many fans questioning if the singer herself was hinting she may be pregnant.
One questioned: “Got something to tell us?”
Another wrote: “GIRL thought u were pregnant!” – while another follower typed: “I think she's been subtly hinting she is.”
Last year, Britney shared the heartbreaking details that she had been forced to use contraceptives for 13 years while under a court ordered conservatorship which gave control of her personal and financial life to her father.
The singer battled to have the court order overturned – and was successful last November.
But during court hearings, fans were devastated to learn the singer had been forced to take medications that would prevent her falling pregnant – dashing her hopes to have more children.
The mum-of-two – who shares sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, with 43-year-old ex-husband Kevin Federline – told the court: "I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an IUD inside of myself so that I don’t get pregnant, but [my team doesn’t] want me to have any more children."
Since the end of her conservatorship, there have been reports Britney hopes to welcome a child with her fiancé, Sam Asghari, 28.
Earlier this month, the singer made it clear this was her plan when she wished her husband-to-be a happy birthday, writing online: "Happy Birthday [present emojis] to my Fiancé … I love you so much [love heart emoji] … I want a family with you … I want it all with you !!!!"
