Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn burst into tears as she spoke about the struggle she faced growing up in her sister's shadow.
The actress, who starred in Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101, said that she always felt that she had to prove that she is "worth something" too.
Her emotional outburst came after she broke down during a tough military exercise in Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.
In the opening episode, Jamie Lynn struggled to dive backwards from a helicopter into the water and was labelled a "buffoon" by an instructor.
When she was interviewed later about the task, she opened up about her childhood.
"Growing up my sister became famous, worldwide famous, when I was very young," she said.
"I guess I just wanna like [proving that] I'm just like worth something.
"I'm so proud of her, love her to death, but I don't know. Sometimes I feel like I don't really have anything for myself," she continued.
While Jamie Lynn said that she is "extremely proud" of her sister's climb to fame, she admitted that she also wanted her "own identity".
"I struggle with self-esteem all the time," she confessed.
She said that doing the water exercise was a struggle after it brought back memories of the time her daughter Maddie nearly drowned in 2017.
Britney has struggled with her relationship with her family over the years, which came to a head after she took her dad to court over her 13 year conservatorship.
Britney accused Jamie of telling "crazy lies" about her in her explosive memoir.
She also didn't invite Jamie, or their parents Lynne and Jamie Spears to her wedding to Sam Asghari in June.
However, Britney did offer her sister some praise after she watched the trailer of Special Forces.
In an Instagram post, she congratulated her sister for being "brave" and "inspiring".
"It's my b-day but you're my heart so I'm thinking about you … congratulations on being so brave, inspiring, and showing guts and glory in your show !!!" Britney wrote.
"You ain't alone … if anybody knows what that feels like … I get it," Britney continued.
