Britney Spears reckons she has shed weight with an ice cream diet. The 41-year-old revealed her regime as she reassured fans she is doing well.
She spoke out after concerned members of the public sent police to check on her at home when she deactivated her Instagram account.
Telling of her shock, Britney said: “It really was uncalled for. I honestly felt like it was a way to make me look bad.”
The singer, who has since returned to the platform, said she has been “at the gym living my best life” and doing yoga.
She said she had suspended her account “because there were too many people saying I looked like an idiot dancing”. She added: “I’m sensitive and, honestly, I would rather take a break and do my ice cream diet.”
The Oops!... I Did It Again hit-maker first tried the regime in 2021 but lasted just a week before she got bored with her favourite chocolate and strawberry flavours.
But now she is convinced, telling fans: “I know, I thought it was a joke too. But it’s not. It works... surprisingly enough.”
In 2002 book The Ice Cream Diet, dietician Holly McCord recommends eating 1,250 calories plus a serving of ice cream per day.
But critics have said a balanced diet without ice cream would be better.
