Britney Spears has revealed that she is pregnant with her third child.
The pop star, 40, shared the happy news on Instagram, revealing she got a pregnancy test after partner Sam Asghari suggested she take one following their trip to Maui.
It comes after her conservatorship finally ended in November after 13 years, which prevented her from having any more children or marrying Sam.
Britney is mum to sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Sharing the news on Instagram, she revealed that she was confused after appearing to put on weight after her trip to Maui, prompting her partner to suggest that she could be pregnant.
She referred to Sam as her husband in the post, suggesting that they may have gotten married in secret.
Britney also admitted that she was concerned as had suffered with perinatal depression in the past.
She wrote: "I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back … I thought “Geez … what happened to my stomach ???” My husband said “No you’re food pregnant silly !!!” So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby … 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it …"
Britney added: "It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible … women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret… This time I will be doing yoga every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love !!!"
Fans rushed to congratulate the singer on the happy news, with one writing: "OMG CONGRATS."
While another gushed: "Sending you so much love, Britney!"
A third wrote: "Omg, for real??"
Britney had been under the tight control of her father Jamie Spears and co-conservators since 2008, preventing her from having any more children.
But following a long fight in court to get her life back, a judge ruled the conservatorship should come to an end last year.
Britney said in an Instagram post following the news: "I love my fans so much it's crazy!!! I think I'm gonna cry the rest of the day!!!! Best day ever."
Her personal trainer partner, Sam, wrote in a post: "History was made today. Britney is Free."
Judge Brenda Penny terminated the conservatorship without requiring any further mental evaluation and told the court: "The conservatorship of the person and the estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated.”
It was a huge victory for Britney, after she tearfully delivered bombshell testimony over the phone in court earlier this year, claiming her father Jamie - and co-conservators - had forced her to take birth control pills, given her high doses of medication, and made her work seven days a week.
She is now able to make her own medical, financial and personal decisions for the first time since 2008.
