Britney Spears' mum's emotional reply after star claims conservatorship was a 'set-up'

Britney Spears' mum has told her daughter she will never "turn my back on you", after the singer labelled her conservatorship a set-up, and pointed the blame at her parents.

The Toxic singer, 40, shared a 22-minute video on YouTube where she spoke at length about her experiences during her conservatorship, which started in 2008 and ended in November last year.

Since the end of the ordeal, which saw Britney's dad Jamie and others take control of her life and finances, the superstar has made bombshell allegations about the restrictions she was placed under, and how she was treated.

In the clip uploaded yesterday, which has since been made private, Britney alleged her 2008 forced hospitalisation was pre-meditated to help her family take control of her assets.

She also made the surprising claim that, despite previous reports, there was no drugs or alcohol in her system prior to her hospitalisation.

The Sometimes singer also said a woman introduced the idea of the conservatorship to her dad and her mum, Lynne, "actually helped him follow through and made it all happen."

Lynn has now responded on Instagram to Britney's post, saying she has been rejected many times by her daughter.

The post read: "Britney, your whole life I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes!

"And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships! I have never and will never turn my back on you! Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless! I have tried everything.

"I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only , eye to eye, in private."

Opening up on the days leading up to her highly publicised hospitalisation, Britney said in her post: "None of it made sense.

"Literally the extent of my madness was playing chase with paparazzi, which is still to this day one of the most fun things I did about being famous.

"I remember my mom was sitting on the couch, and she said, ‘We heard people are coming here today to talk to you. We should probably go to a hotel or something.’ I never really understood what she meant.

"I didn’t believe her. Like, is a lawyer coming here? Who is coming here? Four hours later, there were over 200 paparazzi outside my house, video-taping me through a window of an ambulance, holding me down on a gurney."

"I know now it was all premeditated."

In the past, Britney's dad has said he loves his daughter "unconditionally" and "tried to do what is in her best interests".

After Britney's testimony in court, where she called for the end of conservatorship, Jamie's lawyer denied he was responsible for the restrictions placed on her private life.

"Through the conservatorship, Britney has been able to return to a path towards stability in all of these phases of her life," his lawyer said last November.

"The mission has been successful and it is now time for Britney to re-take control of her life."
