Britney Spears' husband slams 'disgusting' documentary centred on marriage 'troubles'

Sam Asghari has lashed out at the "disgusting" television special centred around his wife, Britney Spears.

TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price Of Freedom is set to air on Monday evening on US network Fox, and according to a press release will release "details about her deeply troubled marriage, family estrangement, alarming behavior, failed intervention and how she continues to be an enduring force in the music industry".

However, fitness trainer Sam took offence to the upcoming special, as he explained in a clip shared to Instagram Stories on Sunday: "I found it absolutely disgusting for the people who were in her life when she didn't have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs."

The part-time actor also went on to reflect on the Circus songstress' treatment while she was under her conservatorship, which ended in November 2021 after thirteen years. During those years, her father, Jamie Spears, had free reign to take control of her personal and financial affairs.

"How are you going to take the most influential person of her generation, the Princess of Pop, America's sweetheart, and put her in prison where her father [Jamie] tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see and use her as a money-making machine?" the 29-year-old asked his social media followers.

Sam also warned readers not to fall for "clickbait" stories as he continued to lash out at the publication for putting Britney, 41, "under the microscope" after finally broke free from her conservatorship.

"All of a sudden, after 15 years when she's free after all those gaslighting, all those things that went down, now you're going to put her under a microscope and tell her story?" he asked, looking appalled.

Sam's video also shut down reports from TMZ of relationship troubles between him and Britney, which claimed that their marriage was in "deep trouble" and that security had "had to step in" to break up their "volatile" arguments.

The couple tied the knot in June 2022 but found themselves at the centre of split rumours recently when they were both recently spotted without their wedding rings.

However, Sam proved that everything was well in his marriage as he recently shared a short clip of them enjoying a hike in lovely weather.

"Hike with my woman," he wrote in the caption alongside a love heart-eye emojis.

Meanwhile, while the TMZ documentary will soon be made available for viewers, Britney will also have the chance to tell her side of the story in a tell-all memoir.

Last year it was reported she would release the explosive memoir after securing a "record-breaking" $ 15million (£12million) publishing deal after the end of her conservatorship.

Britney's book will also focus on her marriage to Sam, as well as many other topics that she wants to set the record straight about herself.
