Britney Spears has hit out at the "cruel joke" that her family had "planned an intervention" over fears 'she could die' and insisted she is "alive and well".
It had been claimed that those close to the singer were planning to intervene about "hysteria in the media".
The intervention had been scheduled for Tuesday, but plans were eventually scrapped, according to reports.
After the reports, Britney took to Instagram on Thursday to say "enough is enough" and has since returned to continue to hit out at the claims.
Sharing a video to social media on Friday, the Toxic hitmaker said: "The media this week said I died. I didn't die people, I didn't die. I'm here, I'm alive. I'm very much alive and well."
She added: "I'm here, I'm happy and I'm well and that's it, that's it."
Alongside the clip, Britney wrote a lengthy statement and said the claims of an intervention have been "worse than a cruel joke".
She wrote: "This week in the news it said that I almost died and that I have a manager and "doctors" !!! I don’t have a management team nor will I ever again in my life !!!
"I don’t have "medical doctors" !!! I take Prozac for depression and that’s about it !!! I’m an extremely boring person !!!"
The 41-year-old continued: "It frustrates me to know that any news outlet would say any of this !!!
"It’s worse than a cruel joke because people actually believe this stuff and all of my efforts in getting better with my little routine of prayer and therapy seem to not count for anything when people can say things that are incredibly wrong !!!"
Britney then said she wants to move forward, writing: "Anyways change of the subject … enough drama … I’m into diamond gowns and funky fashion at the moment !!! Good Morning !!!!!"
Sources had told TMZ that her manager had rented a house in Los Angeles, with her loved ones planning to take her home to convince her to seek help for any mental health struggles.
They said close pals were scared "she's gonna die" and was "flying off the handle".
The rumoured intervention said to include her husband Sam Asghari and her doctors was later reportedly called off as it was deemed "unnecessary" because she was "fine".
